The whine is very obvious. Can anyone compare this or hear the same whine on their 6mt? Kind of sounds like you have a supercharger on there. heh

Mine does the same thing. And when I was at the drag strip I was having clutch issues. As in the peddle did not come more than 4" off the floor for one run and a few other runs I had no clutch. I'm having the clutch fluid changed and I'll let you know if that makes a difference.

my dealership noticed the excess whine too @6k miles. They just put a fresh transmission in there under warranty.

I had this happen once between 4k - 5k miles but now I'm at 10k and I lost my clutch completely last night.

When I started the car and pulled out the engagement point was way low compared to normal. I pulled the pedal out from the back and it seemed ok then the engagement point got lower and lower until I finally could not get the car out of gear. I let the car sit for a few and got enough clutch back to get it to the dealership so we'll see.

I'm thinking fluid but I'd like to get other opinions/comments. Not sure what to think about this.

Bad master cylinder they say. Replacing it tomorrow.

Great, I hope this doesn't continue like the 07s.

Ive posted this before abt the whinning noise similar to mine but i have the 07. Whinning noise occurs ard 3k-4k rev... try driving in fifth gear during those revs if they still make the whinning noise. The dealers said it was my rear axle. They replced my axle fluid and transmission fluid but its still there, they even ordered out the rear axle assembly but the sound still persists. Nw they said its my gearbox after they tested the fifth gear driving. Well im still covered with my warranty so no biggie. Will update on this soon after the replacement.

Either the tech misspoke or the diagnosis was originally wrong. The invoice said the clutch cylinder was leaking and got replaced.

Took the car on a road trip after it got replaced and no problems so far. Clutch is real grabby now.

The thing that bothers me bout my 08 base is that "clanking" sound I hear on my tranny. No "whine" here though bro. But can anyone explain that at all why it clanks? is it the flywheel, clutch, or what?

Yup i get that whine too...its kinda louder when you are on the drive and when you stay in gear and accelerate and decelerate.

No one seems to notice it but its getting to me.

I'm scared what they might do to her if I take her in for an inspection.
I've read and heard too many horror stories of Nissan's service.

Anyone have any new outcomes on this issue? My Nismo has 2800 miles and is starting to get real noisy when I engage and disengage the clutch. It is also really hard to get into 2nd gear sometimes.. 1st also.. I will be getting it to the dealer but would like to know some outcomes from others..

there is an on going problem with the High rev transmissions... i have an 08 with 25k and the dealer replaced the transmission twice so far... the car now is on its 3rd transmission. For those who dealers are giving the run around about these problem go to another dealer or keep fighting. i went to 3 dealers untill one checked it out and said that something was not right

Thanks JR... Know one of the master mechanics at my local dealer. The service manager said if I want to wait I can schedule my car with him. He will do the right thing.. Thanks!!
