Thank you and your infinite amounts of wisdom. I'm glad that you told the people with the 07-08 350Z with the VQ35HR engine that your VQ35DE built in 2004 is in great running order. We here in the VQ35HR forum are so proud of you.

Do you have any more useless information for us?

i have an 07 with 17k miles...and so far...i only have a throwout bearing problem...like a slight grinding sound in idle (sometimes loud grinding noise when the cars been running for a long time)...and goes away when the clutch is in...but other than that my car seems fine...i think...what is this whining noise? a transmission problem? i heard every 350z has a throwout bearing problem...not really a problem but its just loud...not sure if this is true...

Did the whine go away? Do you have the rocks-in-a-can noise when in idling at neutral? Did it stop clunking?

When i first got the car, there was no whine in the car at all, since i hit over 800 miles the whine has started, i asked other Z drivers in town they have the same thing, so im guessing its normal to what I've heard.

From what the service manager says the problem is, and I may have this wrong. It sounds as if the synchros aren't lined up correctly or something along those lines. I understand that 90% of these guys have no idea what they are talking about, but from the sound of things he's seen this problem lots of times before and was actually pretty concerned.

All the noises I complained about before are gone except the noise I get when I get on the clutch at low speeds (10mph and below). It feels like the clutch stuck a little bit and when it comes loose you hear loud slow rattle. It doesn't happen all the time tho.

I had the whine in mine too. I knew what it was though. If it's same on yours then they need to replace the slave cylinder and throw out bearing. Had mine replaced under warranty and haven't had problems with it since.

Did your tranny sound like the whine in the video on post #18 of this thread? How did you know replacing the slave cylinder and throw out bearing would fix it?
