Default Poor Ventilation in Inside Cabin

Anyone having warm air constantly blowing thru the air vents into the inside cabin when the Air Condition is turned OFF, air flow set for Fresh Air, temperature set to the coldest setting and fan at maximum output?

Once the Air Condition is turned ON, it resolves the problem but once it's turned OFF, it blows warm air again. Warmer than the outside air. Lowering the windows and with the fan off gets noticeably cooler.

Thanks!!!

I've noticed the same thing. The air must funnel thru the engine.

Same here. Tonight is my 1st time driving my 04 350Z at night. ( I got my on 8/30). Since I always turn on A/C at the daytime, so I never know hot/warm air comes out form the vent. Is anyone knows how to fix this problem?

It's definately how all the Z's behave, I don't know it I'd call it normal. I find it annoying as hell in moderate weather. It must make the AC work that much harder in hot weather too.

Hmm... this is an issue? Every car I have owned blew air warmer than ambient through the vents on hot days when the A/C wasn't on.

Unsure if this is true although I suspect it may be...my previous car, a 2000 Eclipse had this same feature as does my 350Z. When taking the Eclipse into the shop for some work I asked them about this. They said it was some new requirement/law/etc. that some fresh air had to be flowing into the car at all times (even with A/C fully off). I'm thinking it is a bit warmer then outside air since it probably flows through the engine compartment and the air flow is slower without the normal A/C fan on so it picks up a bit more heat from the engine.

Thanks for all the responses. At least now I am convinced it's a design flaw of the 350, my 350 is no different than others.

This issue is not present in my 2000 Maxima and M3.

I just compare my 91 MR2 with My new Z tonight at 11pm. While My MR2's Vent blow out COLD fresh air and MY 350Z's vent comes out warm/hot air. After 15mins driving(350Z). I need to turn on my A/C, cuz' even I after I press the button don't take fresh air came in form outside, I still feel something warm came out form the vent. You know, its warm in L.A. Is that means I have to turn the A/C on, if I don't want to roll windows down? that sucks.

Makes me want to open the hatch to get some air flowing through the cabin. I can feel the heat from the cat and transmission through the seats and the floor. So much for heat shields.

On another note... they're supposedly putting cooling fins on the Euro-spec Z transmission. Wonder if we can get a retro-fit.

This "feature" has been on all cars for many years. When it first started being used it was often advertised as "flow-through ventilation." It's designed to keep fresh air coming into the cabin to reduce the possibility of toxic emissions building up in the car. I believe it is mandated by law.

It's more noticable on some cars than others, depending on how the vents are routed and where they are located in the passenger cabin.

Default Poor Ventilation

I agree with the poor ventilation. After I fart, I roll the windows down and the smell just doesn't go away.

I guess glazed donuts and chili dogs don't mix.
