plugs are probably causing the power loss off the go. Be ready to replace your vavle gasket at the same time because your plugs will probably have oil on them.

if he has oil on his plugs, he will need to change his valve cover, not the gasket. Only change the gasket if there is oil leaking out of the valve cover itself.

I have the smale exact problem and am taking it to the dealer tomorrow. I read an old thread it was the air flow meter causing the problem, covered under normal warranty for cars under 36k miles.

my car has 120k miles lol. no warranty for me. its confirmed though...it only happens after its been warmed up and driven a bit. so i drive from home to the gas station near work, turn it off, then come back out and crank it up...it seems like it struggles to start, almost like a fire issue so the plugs are comin out tonight. (the starter ect is fine...just fyi)

I think my issue is coming from bad Spark plugs and Knock sensor. I will replace both this weekend and see what happens.

Just changed the spark plugs and that seems to have helped. My throttle response is a lot better but i do still have that lag under 3k rpm. Not as bad as before but it's still there?? It seems a lot of people are getting this issue but no one knows the fix? I will look into my knock sensor this week

Sadly I'm having the same problem just recently my car starts to lose power around 3k...

I punch it in 6th on the highway and the car doesn't go anywhere...CEL turns on for a quick second then turns off

mechanic thinks it may be the knock censor or MAF censor....very frustrating

It sounds like my car does the exact same thing recently. Did you ever resolve this issue?

^^ I know this is a little late, they probably already paid 2500 for the dealership to fix it. Clutch and flywheel fried buddy...

I had the same issue. Spark plugs helped. Took off intake and exhaust, cleaned all the gunk out, breathing better now. Test pipes had a fair amount of carbon in it (running rich?). Cleaning the fuel system now.

it sounds like i have the same problem but i drive an auto. so i'm wondering if it might be diffrent problem. but the weather cleared up, new air filter, engine oil, gear oil, tire rotation(jk jk on the tire rotation) havn't been able to replicate the problem. i thought my problem might have been a combination of low tire pressure and sucking up a little water in the CAI. but i'm not a master tech so i don't really know myself.
