Does anyone know where the water pump is located on a 2003?

It looks like our water pump is kinda easy to get to compared to other cars just

so i removed the water pump cover and also the 3 bolts holding it.. is it suppose to be able to slide out? it looks like there is a chain connected to the gear. anyones help would definately be appreciated.

kristi, do you have the service manual? Its not that easy of an uninstall.

i shouldn't. the timing chain should be around it. i'm pretty sure the chain has to be removed. I could be wrong though but isn't the whole timing cover suppose to come off?

No, the timing cover doesn't have to come off. You have to loosen and remove the chain tensioner (also shown in DaveZ's photo, item 1) to get enough slack off the chain to get the pump out.

I highly recommend a service manual or taking it to someone who knows what they're doing.
