Default speaker rattle

Has anyone had this issue from a Stock stereo on Entusiast 03 (Not Bose) with stock speakers, Bass set to 2+ and Treb set to 3+ when low Bass notes from regular radio programs or CD play the door rattles? I'm afraid to take the door apart and don't know if I really want to bother the dealership, but just listening to the stereo and having this happen is really crappy and embarassing when you have a passenger. Here's my 30K car with a $5 radio, nice huh!!!

It's the material and design of the door panel. If you press against the door panel, you'll notice the vibration goes away. Mine has a little vibration as well, but it's simply inherit in the design.

I also get the door rattle at relatively low volumes. Especially from the passenger side. My door actually rattles without the stereo on, on certain road surfaces.
Pressing on the door panel does stop the noise, but what am I supposed to do? Drive with one hand on the wheel and one on the passenger door?
I've had the dealer look at this and they took it apart to check it out but could not fix it.......
Basically I was told there are no parts to rattle and it's probably the window seal against the lower, inside edge of the window.

Problem not solved !!!!

Bummer.

Default possible resolve

I pushed down very slightly on the armrest on the drivers door and the rattle went away on mine, it's like something isn't seated just right. I know the dealership will take it apart put it back together and say nothing wrong, so why wast 2 hours of my day there. I'm thinking of putting a 1-2 lb weight fastened somewhere since the rattle did go away with very little pressure. Now I just have to find a place to put it...

I've thought about putting some of that sound proffing material between the door and speaker, maybe just a little cushion would solve the problem. The weight didn't work that I tried, plus when I got my window grease problem fixed the rattle has gotten worse, now it rattles with or without the stereo... 35K car, $50 stereo and it rattles...It goes like stink though, so I guess I can live with it

I also have the rattle on the drivers door with window down and radio off. The first time they found a loose window regulator any ways problem not fixed problem coming from upper area in back of inner handle area. I could be the window streak stoppers i think took it in did'nt get to it, will ask tech to remove door panel and take it for a test drive . I know some thing is loose inside like in know there is a piece of scrap metal inside my rear strut tower brace.

03 Track -

I resolved this problem by stuffing small pieces of foam between the door panel. Easy fix!

Good luck.

I have also had this problem. It got so bad that the stereo became unusable. I took it into the dealer. As it turns out, the doors use blocks of insulting foam to acoustically isolate the speaker from the rest of the door assembly. The foam broke loose and caused the rattling problem. My dealer reglued the foam blocks with stronger glue and the problem was solved.

My advice is to get it repaired, don't suffer, that is what warranties are for.
