Default Rattling sound from the driver side

Ladies and Gentlemen,
I've been hearing rattling sound coming from the driver side (above the meters). Is anyone else hearing this? I'll have the dealer check on this.
Also, I think the 2nd gear is kinda clunky as someone might have reported earlier.

I only have 350 miles so far. I hope the 2nd gear will get smoother. Some people are recommending oil change after 1k miles but the manual says 3K miles.
any comments?

I would change oil after 500 miles, or at least the oil filter. This is a very cheap protective measure against any particles that may be loose from the break-in period. It is cheap and will not hurt anything. BTW, my second gear was as you mentioned but almost never happens now, 10,000 miles B-day Sept 8th.

Was told by my Nissan service department that the "driver's side dash rattle" is due to a wiring harness just under the dash that isn't secured properly. Well, maybe they went in and "secured" it, but the rattle is still there. Someone here mentioned the alarm led housing, and I've held onto it while driving (yikes!), and the rattle seemed to have gone away...though my arm was also resting on the dash, so don't know if it's "just" the led housing, or not.
The rattle is a PIA, but doesn't carry on for more than about 5 minutes at a time, then quits till my next drive.

I have this same rattle that seems like it originates from under the trio of gauges. It comes and goes so my dealer has not been able to fix it. If anyone knows what's going on, please let us know. It's driving me crazy!!!

I have the same rattle in the speedo cluster. I've not fixed it but I can replicate it by simply rapping on the top of the cluster. Annoying but not sure I want nissan prying things apart yet.

well, I'm a little embarassed....the rattle that I THOUGHT was coming from my speedo cluster was actually the round cover with the red alarm LED on it on the drivers side. I just pushed around on it and it quit, at least now if it starts up again I know where to stuff in some felt or something like that.

THanks! I have rattles from the doors, rear view mirror and the dash. The doors are from the window mechanism needing to be reset, the dash is the LED light - i will fix somehow. How do you keep the rear-view from rattling?

Now, just to fix the BOSE again, and the window streaks...(whicha appeared after the windows were fixed)

I wedged something under the round LED cover in front of the speedo cluster and that definitely fixed the rattle that I could of swore was coming from the speedo and tack panel. Very deceiving...if you have a rattle on the drivers side try pushing down on the LED cover.
