Rattling sound from the driver side
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I've been hearing rattling sound coming from the driver side (above the meters). Is anyone else hearing this? I'll have the dealer check on this.
Also, I think the 2nd gear is kinda clunky as someone might have reported earlier.

let me know if they find out how to fix the rattle from the gauges (meters)...i got so many rattles in my car
...btw, how many miles do you have on your car? my second gear was "clunky" too, but after about 4-5k miles it started going away...(i got my 1st oil change at 4k miles)
I would change oil after 500 miles, or at least the oil filter. This is a very cheap protective measure against any particles that may be loose from the break-in period. It is cheap and will not hurt anything. BTW, my second gear was as you mentioned but almost never happens now, 10,000 miles B-day Sept 8th.
Was told by my Nissan service department that the "driver's side dash rattle" is due to a wiring harness just under the dash that isn't secured properly. Well, maybe they went in and "secured" it, but the rattle is still there. Someone here mentioned the alarm led housing, and I've held onto it while driving (yikes!), and the rattle seemed to have gone away...though my arm was also resting on the dash, so don't know if it's "just" the led housing, or not.
The rattle is a PIA, but doesn't carry on for more than about 5 minutes at a time, then quits till my next drive.

i had a rattle coming from my passenger side
i thought it was the door come to find out it was the mirror in the visor. try flipping your driver side one up and see if its that. i have found out that noises in the cabin are misleading. i thought my center gauges were making a buzzing sound but it was the shifter at high rpms i found out it is normal because of the syncro's
hope these ideas help

I have this same rattle that seems like it originates from under the trio of gauges. It comes and goes so my dealer has not been able to fix it. If anyone knows what's going on, please let us know. It's driving me crazy!!!

well, I'm a little embarassed....the rattle that I THOUGHT was coming from my speedo cluster was actually the round cover with the red alarm LED on it on the drivers side. I just pushed around on it and it quit, at least now if it starts up again I know where to stuff in some felt or something like that.
THanks! I have rattles from the doors, rear view mirror and the dash. The doors are from the window mechanism needing to be reset, the dash is the LED light - i will fix somehow. How do you keep the rear-view from rattling?
Now, just to fix the BOSE again, and the window streaks...(whicha appeared after the windows were fixed)

I wedged something under the round LED cover in front of the speedo cluster and that definitely fixed the rattle that I could of swore was coming from the speedo and tack panel. Very deceiving...if you have a rattle on the drivers side try pushing down on the LED cover.
