Default VDC and SLIP lights stay on after spin - anyone?

I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this anomaly...

My brother and I were screwing around in an empty, wet parking lot. I told him to put it into a hard left-hander and stab the throttle for grins. The VDC was off. Well she unloaded so hard that we ended up rolling backward. The engine mysteriously stalled (even though he put the clutch in) and the car sat there with the VDC and SLIP lights on. Restarted the car, and they were still on. He had to turn the key off, then back on before the system would reset. Now, I thought this was some coincidence that occurs when the engine stalls. So I took the wheel, bent her hard into a corner again, stabbed the gas, but this time I made darn sure she kept running. The car was still going backward, but now I had 4000 RPM and steam rolling off the tires. It did the same thing! Cycling the key again got rid of the lights.

I know the VDC system uses a g-sensor...the only thing I can think of is that the VDC isn't completely disabled and it freaks out when it sees a huge spike on the g-sensor....

Anyone else?

i have had that happen right after a donut. i turned the car off and restarted it and the car was then fine. it happens every time i do one.i dont think it is a problem, i think you have to reset the system because of to much wheel spin.

The lights just come on to indicate the VDC system has gone in to a lock out and must be restarted... not a big deal.. it just got confused and needs a reset (ie restart the car like stated above) I have had this happen a few times when I forgot to turn of vdc.. no big deal

Now I am not completely sure, but when I discovered this issue on the skidpad a long time ago, it seemed to me that the ABS system shut off as well. At the end of the spin where I had both feet in and I was going backwards, the wheels simply locked up and I continued to skid on the wet pavement.

exactly the same thing happened to me when i was doing doughnuts... or at least tryin.. hehehe. lights would come on.. had to restart to reset. kinda odd since you turn off the VCD.. if it still acts up, whats the point. i know its a safety feature but what if you want to track your car. yanno??

Thankfully drifting doesn't trigger it
