Mine gets extremely tight after I install it, its the amount of heat generated by these beasts. I've done 2 oil changes on mine and both times the filter is a bear to get off. Just use an oil wrench or hell try the screwdriver trick, I never thought of that before.

dont tighten it too loose, it falls off, game over..

If you have an old belt, that works pretty well also and doesn't destroy the filter or get oil everywhere.

Get yourself an oil filter wrench with the teeth on them like this, they are only a few bucks and they will get even the most stubborn oil filters.
