:First of all I did use the search button for more than 1 search, I looked through 22 pages of postse out of 32 before asking. So please flame away if you need to.
Yesterday I was at a dyno day and now have problem and also need advice, please. On the 1st pull the car started to ping or detonate and I was way down on power compared to last dyno day numbers, talked to the operator & he said the knock sensor would or should catch the problem and 2nd pull would be okay & cause no damage. On pull #2 the car again does the same thing, but he gets a full pull this time. I am down 20whp since last dyno & have added 5/8 Motodyne spacer, Nismo cai & HKS daul exhaust. Here are the problems:
trip computer ( most left of the 3 gauges on the center of the dash) is now showing RPM & no way to clear this, so far. Also the operator asks what kind of gas I a running, Costco premium same as last dyno runs, he suggests to clean the MAF and run better gas.
Any ideas on the RPM on the trip computer or any ideas about cleaning the MAF with electronic parts cleaner and using different gas in the Z. Also the car was running lean on the 2 pulls. I need to change out the dirty, damn dirty air filter in the morning and need ideas on the pinging and RPM problems.
I hope to get back on the dyno again in 1 month. Americans thanks for any ides or help, or flaming.

Not yet, is there a post you know of that has the instructions for doing this or, do I just have to take the cables off the battery overnight?? Do you think I should fly by autozone and have then read the codes if any also.
Thanks for the help, in advance.
Thanks for the help, in advance.
Disconnect the battery then step on the brake pedal. Supposedly that drains all the backup-power held in the ECU and has the same affect as leaving the battery disconnected overnight.

if you press the brake pedal about 3-4 times and hold down it will drain all power left in the car. I know this works because when my power is disconnected my capacitor beeps and you can listen to the beep get lower and lower as the power drains

Cleaned the MAF & changed out the Nismo CAI filter, the butt dyno saya woo hoo. Also the RPM went away by: disconnecting the battery then step on the brake pedal. The Z feels strong again, thanks for all the info Americans.
I have NEVER had ANY problems with COSTCO premium, & have dynoed the car with it before. The filter was completely trashed, I think I hadn't cleaned & oiled the filter for about a year, the MAF also looked like caca too. Guess I was just being a lazy ****, due to pain in the a$$ to get to the filter. I think I have learned my lesson and hope to post strong numbers in 1 month at the nexy dyno day.
I am ordering a Kinetix plenum & high flow cats before I am on the dyno again, so I will be selling my motordyne 5/8 plenum spacer in the near future.

This is the new model better material, and very smooth on the undersides. Check it out high flow cats & new improved plenum for 6 bills plus shipping, wooo hooo. Looks like the best bang for the buck combo I have seen in a while.
Kinetix Plenum / High Flow Cat PACKAGE 350Z / G35 03-06
List Price: $979.98
Your Price: $599.99
You Save: $379.99 (39%)
Quantity:
http://www.kinetixracing.com/kinetix...zg3503-06.aspx
NEWLY RELEASED V+ intake plenum for the 350Z and G35 20 with new LOWER PRICE !!
Imrpoved in EVERY aspect over our previous intake plenum, including performance:
* 270% stronger than previous plenum
* Incredible heat resistance, improved 170%, now up to 500 degrees F
* Lower operating temperatures - 50 degrees cooler than ANY aluminum plenum option
* More volume! 20% more volume than factory and 12% more than our previous version
* Completely smooth underside with NO flow restrictions
* Can handle boosted cars, with lifetime warranty on cars up to 15 psi
* Lifetime Warranty
* Check out our upcoming "Upgrade Program" for our previous plenum customers!
This new intake plenum replaces the upper half of your factory intake manifold. This plenum bolts directly up to your car with zero modifications, and also allows the use of the factory strut bar, and engine cover. This unit will fit the 350z, the G35, and the FX. *** engine cover may not fit with the G35 or the FX35 **
This plenum increases the volume to the middle and more importantly the front cylinders. The factory plenum utilizes a very aggressive angle as it caps off the front cylinders. This new plenum equalizes the flow to all cylinders, while also increasing the total plenum volume. This plenum also uses a very versatile plastic to achieve a smooth interior for superior flow properties. The plastic also allows a lighter overall weight, by about 3 lbs. The overall temperatures of the plenum have also decreased by about 50 degrees farenheit. This helps with heat soak problems and to help lower air intake temperatures.
Our plenum has shown a solid peak gain of 14 rwhp and a consistent gain throughout the RPM range. When matched up with our high flow cats, they together have shown peak gains of 20 rwhp.
The plenum still retains all factory mounting points and also includes all necessary new hardware. The plenum also includes a permanently adhered flange gasket that is to be used with the factory gasket as well as a new throttle body gasket.
Look for our package with our SMOG legal high flow cats for package savings.
** This plenum includes a lifetime warranty on manufacturer's defects. This will include any failure in the material used which may effect its ability to create a seal. We will also offer a new gasket service for a minor fee to replace any gaskets that have been damaged during installation or repetitive installations.
High flow catalytic converters that will pass emissions testing for 350Z and G35 (2dr and 4 dr)
The factory catalytic converters are well known as the biggest "choke point" in the factory exhaust system. These high flow CARSOUND/MAGNAFLOW catalytic converters blow away the stock converter flow rates while still maintaining legal emissions levels.
Constructed with stainless tubing and 3/8" stainless flanges (converters are aluminized steel). Fully TIG welded and true mandrel bends used throughout. The CARSOUND converters are widely known as some of the best and are also marketed under the MAGNAFLOW brand name. These converters will bolt up to any header (factory or aftermarket) and any exhaust (factory or aftermarket). These pipes also retain the factory Oxygen sensor location and WILL NOT THROW A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!!.
Expect great performance gains from these converters as they have dyno'd between 4-10 hp at the wheels on factory 350Z's. They only add a slightly more aggressive exhaust note and do not have the pesky "raspiness" between 3-4k rpm that is seen with straight through test pipes.
All of our pipes come complete with bolts, washers, and lock nuts.
** Please check local laws regarding catalytic converters. These pipes have passed visuals and sniffer tests in CA (the strictest state on emissions) but they do not have a CARB number associated with them. **
This package ships on average 4-5 business days after order placement.

Yupp this is the design I like better just adds sooo much bling under the hood too. Its more expensive but it has better design then the SSV but I havent seen any private dyno tests done yet like on the SSV.
http://www.kinetixracing.com/new-ssv...zg3503-06.aspx
** Newly released Velocity Intake Manifold replaces our older SSV version with many improvements:
* Velocity plenum chamber design - Equal air flow between cylinders
* 12% more plenum chamber volume
* 10% short intake runners for more flow and higher HP potential
* Smoother A/F curve - less tuning required - more consistent power
* High RPM power !! 30.5hp gains at 6800 rpm
* Thicker gauge construction for higher boost - warranty up to 30psi
**CLICK ON THE PICTURE FOR DYNO PROVEN RESULTS**
For 2003-2007 350z and 2003-2007 G35 (single throttle body engine models)
We took the very popular SSV manifold and went over every aspect of its design to make the most impactful improvements. As our customers and the 350z/g35 marketplace continue to improve the power potential of their engines, the SSV needed a redesign to accomodate the the higher power output of these vehicles.
The new Velocity Manifold is geared for higher flow and higher RPM power gains. This allows for even larger power gains in the many F/I vehicles out there.
The new Velocity Plenum design maximizes flow to the furthest cylinders by creating a "venturi" effect. By gradually narrowing the plenum chamber , the air speed must increase to satisfy the equation of continuity. Improved flow to all cylinders also means an improved smoother A/F curve that requires less tuning in F/I applications, and ZERO tuning in N/A vehicles.
This manifold is constructed entirely of Stainless Steel, then polished out for an absolute beautiful finished product that looks as great as it performs. We chose stainless because of its great thermal properties, conducting 10X!! less heat than aluminum and eliminating much of the manifold's mass, which greatly helps with heat soak. Stainless is considerably more expensive than aluminum, but the finish shines brighter and longer. The overall manifold SAVES 10lbs of weight over stock! Precision TIG welding throughout, and a CNC cut 3/8" main flange. All mandrel bent runners and charge tube, this manifold rivals the quality of other intakes twice its price.
We improved greatly upon the factory plenum designs. The factory lower plenum creates MANY dips and turns which do not promote good airflow and create turbulence inside your factory intake. We developed a straight shot design, eliminating the twists, turns, and obstructions. We then took each runner and also added velocity stack inlets to each individual runner for even better performance.
This Manifold is a DIRECT replacement and will work with any aftermarket intake. It also allows you the ability to use the factory strut bar, or any aftermarket strut bar. We also have available an engine cover specifically designed for our manifold.
We recommend an A/F tuning on Forced Induction vehicles (turbo and supercharged) after installation of the SSV in order to maximize power and overall engine reliability. Tuning is generally not needed in Naturally Aspirated ( NA ) applications.
Each manifold is supplied with all necessary hardware and instructions. There is an additional port supplied which can be used for boost gauges, etc.
** Orders generally ship 5-7 business days after order placement **

^ Yeah I was checking that baby out last night, I am going to call em' in the morning to see if they will throw me a sweet deal plus the high flow cats. Then the engine cover is another $299.00 to fit this intake, guess they think I am having good hair day. My bet is that they won't give me a deal worth my business.
I have seen this intake on a few cars in my area, it really looks gruesome if you don't add the engine cover, plus as a bonus you loose the strut bar also. At least both the of the cars I saw with this baby on neither had a strut bar, maybe takes away from the shiny look. Too much to loose IMO, but it does look shiny under the hood. bliNG BLINggg

You lose the strut bar??? I didnt know that I could have sworn the picture I saw had the strut bar still on... It been awhile since I have seen the pictures though maybe my memory is failing me lol.
I dont have a engine cover on now soo I may have to think about having to have a engine cover.
Im gonna go search for pics now lol
