Default A/C receiver/ drier

I need to replace the A/C drier in my 03 350Z. One of the lines had a bad leak (nothing left in the system) and I am replacing the line as well. I did a search and do not see anyone else posting information on the drier. I expect(ed) it to be a quick part swap, but the packaging indicates it is under pressure, etc. Are there any precautions I need to take before installing the new drier, or am I just asking a stupid question over a $20 part? Thanks for your help in advance, guys.

The a/c drier would need to be drained first if it was under pressure.. but since you developed a leak you will be fine to do it yourself.. I just replaced the drier in my 350z.. It was a simple fix.. Under screw the bracket holding the lower hard lines on, loosen the bracket holding the middle bracket and spread it wide enough to push the recver dryer up and out.. once the recver drier is out disconnect the plug on the top.. once this is completed, you can install the new drier in reverse order.

PM me if you have any questions...

Will the system need to be recharged after the installation? (Freon/coolant)

From what I did, yes.. because my drier and the line running from the compresser to the hard lines by the radiator needed replacing, I needed to refill the system.

FYI.. Our a/c system requires 1.21 lbs of coolant..

Default more issues

Purchased the part, removed old drier, the drier the auto parts store gave me has no place for the pressure sensor. It's going to be 101+ degrees here this weekend, and I wanted it taken care of. Dealer can have one by Tuesday, which is fine, but little too late. Anyone else experience this problem? I attempted an order from Orielly and Advance Auto parts, which failed, and even Auto Zone can't tell me if theirs has the threading for the pressure sensor. I'm surprised, did Nissan use more than one drier on different Z's, or did the people around here ride the short bus? If someone could send me the part number for a receiver drier from an auto parts store, I'd appreciate it. It's HOT!

I ordered my receiver drier from Import Auto Wholesale online. They have really fast shipping, the part is dirt cheap, and is a direct bolt in.

Here's the link to the part:
