Idle drops way low after installing the Optima battery...???
2003 350z MT
I have never had this problem before until last night and all day today:
Last night I put in a new Yellow top Optima for the car, the whole process tooks me about 40mins since I was kinda slow, lol.
Anyway, everytime I start the car, the car starts then Idle immediately drops almost to 0, then go back up.
THere are about 2-3 times that it just dies and I have to restart the car again.
I checked the battery Cables and they are tighten very well.
What could be my problem, guys?
H E L P !!! Thanks in advance!

idk but there are only 2 cables for two charges on the battery and this is not my first time replacing a battery so it must be something else...
btw, I have a Jim Wolf Intake and it is 102 degrees here yesterday and today. Could that be any thing to do with that?

I had the same problem June 22 after disconnecting battery. Start car. RPM drops to zero. Car stalls.
Did not mess with any ECU reset. ECU fixed itself after 3 days.

he said similar stuff like yours, DavidV.
I will let the car learn to adapt to this new battery then!
Thanks man!
3 days later, the car still does not have any improvement...
This afternoon I started it, drove for a while then turned off to test:
It died twice and had the possibility of more if I didnt rev the engine a bit to help...
what else could be wrong, people?

This may be a dumb question, but did you drive the car during the 3 day time frame? I had a '92 Stealth and whenever the battery was disconnected, the computer lost all memory. The engine would stutter and die. But, if I just kept it idling for about 30 minutes, everything returned to normal. I don't think you have a serious problem; the ECU just needs to relearn.

I have been driving to and from work.
I also drive it around much on the weekend to many activities with wife, etc...
Every trip of mine last more than 20 mins.
I am going to leave the car on idle for 30 mins straight tomorrow to see what happen then.
