I just bought a 2003 350z base on Friday night, and after I bought it the seller told me that it needs a fuel sensor replaced. My fuel gauge is reading incorrectly how much fuel it is carrying. Where can I find this part? Hope you guys can help, thanks

Both operate with a float mechanism like inside a toilet tank. Unfortunately access to the units is from the top of the tank.

Ok. Mine is fixed. My fuel guage went crazy like a year ago. It went from full, to half, to empty, to half, to full, etc. etc. Then it only stayed at empty. So I finally gave in and bought the secondary fuel level sensor (behind drivers seat). I got it from ebay. A guy on there had like 5 of them for around $50 or $60. After I installed it my guage showed half but never anything more and then it would drop to empty at its normal rate. I couldn't find the other fuel level sensor (behind passenger seat) anywhere accept the dealer. So I had them order me one and it was $117. For this one you have to drain as much fuel out of your tank as possible and the whole fuel system. Completly remove the fuel pump and carefuly remove the fuel level sensor on the side of it without breaking it. It took me a good 30 min to get it off. Pop the new one it. Put the fuel pump back, add some gas, and there ya go. Problem solved, well for me anyways. I think this is 99.9% of peoples problem. Oh yeah, if you do this yourself tell the dealer to order you two new "O" rings that go around each opening on top the tank. You cannot use the olds one because once you remove them the expand in diameter and no longer fit. Hope this helps and good luck.
