thanks guys if the problem persists i guess i have to replace the clutch button

Since your car is an 03, like mine. There is faulty issue on 03-04' for 350z's, g35's, and murano's that rarely happens:

If your car doesn't start again, look at the security light (the red light on your dash), if that stays on when you place your key in, then your car is not reading the key fob chip. It still happens with my car randomly, and the only way to fix it was to arm and rearm (oem alarm) my car untill the red light doesnt stay lit when I insert it in the ignition.

might as well change it, mine didnt start on the first attempt again today after driving for 15mins, changed it and have noticeably stronger starts.

Not interesting at all really lol, just sound advice. Since it's pretty cheap i'd bite the bullet and have it replaced before it goes entirely however.

sorry, neither, the clutch switch.
