Default Batterys dead, recommend a good charger?

Its in the parking garage and I have no one to help jump start it here so I wonder if there's a quick battery charging device out there I can use to get it going again, any recommendations? Thanks.

Just go and get a jump starter box.....but the only bad part is you have to charge the internal battery for a couple hours before you use it.You can get these at pep boys and most auto stores.

A professional quick charger will probably cost you more than a new battery would. A cheap non-pro model will take a few hours but will get the job done.

Caution!!! There's a caution in the owner's manual about removing the battery. It says do not close either front door when the battery is disconnected. The window adjusting function will not lower the window, and the roof panel side rail may be damaged by closing the doors with the windows up.

Just curious.

Will removing the battery in the Z trip any anti-theft circuits? I had the battery in one of my vehicles replaced at a Battery Store, and the radio wouldn't work until I had it reset at a dealer.

The dealer said you were supposed to temporarily hook up another battery while switching out the bad one so the system wouldn't be without power.

Wildone,

I use a product called a "Battery Tender", it will keep a constant charge on your battery. You can hook it up directly to your battry and it will send a continuous trickle charge to your battery, then shut down when it's charged. As soon as it detects a charge drop it will trickle charge it back up.

Here's the link:

http://batterytender.com/

As far as unhooking your battery, yes, it is a pain cause you will lose all the pre-set channels on your radio and if it's like Honda's you have to plug in a five digit code to unlock the anti theft code.

But, you can use one of these little thingamajiggies:

You just plug it into your auxiliary plug/port, attach a 9 volt battery, now you can disconnect your battery and don't have to worry about losing your pre-set channels and other stuff that you would lose with a disconnected battery.

I use this stuff on my 71 RS Camaro.

Winchman,

I got it out of my Eckler's Camaro catalog. Sure beats having to re-set everything, cause that's a PITA....Here's the link....
