Tranny is being replaced. Should I replace the clutch too?

When my Z was at the Dealers getting a new motor installed last week (O/C issue) they told me that my clutch was getting bad and if I had it replaced now I would save $600 in labor because it was all apart. The new clutch and labor was $658.00 and would have been $1258 if I came in to just get the clutch replaced.

Ok so here's an update:
Transmission (replaced under warranty)- $2,500
Clutch (parts, tax and labor)- $418
Wasn't as bad as I thought. Still sux though but at least my Z feels like it's straight off the showroom floor now lol

Not trying to throw stones here. But when the dealer replaced my first tranny under warranty i was told that they were required from Nissan to replace the clutch and flywheel while in there. I'm guessing to keep people from coming back afterwards and saying their clutch is gone now and blaming it on the old tranny. They did this both times they replaced my tranny under warranty. I fear that the dealer offered you "free labor" because it saved them from using their parts for what is apprently a required part of a warranty tranny replacement. Then sent yrou old clutch back to Nissan and got warranty money for it.
I wish i had seen this post earlier. You still got a great deal!! But you should have gotten a free deal!! lol

Couple things, I wasn't required to replace my clutch with the tranny. Also, I made them show me the wear on the parts before I gave them the ok to replace them. My clutch was definitely in need of a replacement lol!

I didn't mean they required you to replace your clutch. Nissan required the dealer to replace the clutch for FREE (No cost to you) when doing a warranty tranny replacement.
