Default Check Engine Light....

Weird problem occuring this week. If anyone can find out the trouble code- P2135 is what i scanned using an OBD2 scan tool. I donn't have the service manual yet but if anyone can retrieve this code and tell me what it stands for, I'd appreciate it.....
So far car has run awesome but this lights bothering me. I erased the code one time to see what happens and yesterday night the check engine light came back on. Besides the light, my "TCS off" light came on and so did my "SLIP" light and I could not speed up because i guess the car felt as if it was slipping....
I think the P stands for powertrain but i was told that the
code -P2135 can be found in our service manuals....I wonder if anyone else has had an issue of this sort but hopefully not. Just want to share this issue with the board.
Please reply with a definition to the code-P2135 found in our service manuals
Thanks

It is the Throttle position sensor. I think that there have been a few posts about this. Basically it is sending the wrong voltage to the ECU. It may have to be replaced. I would get it to the deal as soon as you can.

My "Check Engine" light came on around 2900 miles. I told the dealer and they informed me that it was supposed to come to inform me of a scheduled maintenance, but also that it came on a bit early. They never did anything about it, even when I left it OVERNIGHT. It should have taken them 10-15 minutes at most to reset...they even told me it would. I got sick of waiting and driving my Jeep, so I decided just to drive with it on. A week later, it turned off, and hasn't come back on since. No problems.

so I'm sure that doesn' help you much, since it sounds like you know what you're doing. But just thought I'd share that tid bit of info, in case in may be just that. Anyone else have this happen?

cnile, your car is going on failsafe mode when it does that. YOu won't be able to rev past 2500 rpms. It's happened to me a couple times as well.. a problem with the earlier ecu's

My "service engine soon" or MIL came on last night at about 2375 miles. It's on steady and the car's running like a bear. so I'm not making a bee-line for the dealership yet. Owners Manual says it probably something to do with the gas cap, so I snugged it up again and hopefully it'll turn itself off. There's no problem revving past 2500rpm and the engine is still smooth.

I had the same problem when the Z was still an infant. The dealer told me that I wasn't tightening up the gas cap enough. I knew this was not the case and it happened again. The second time I went to the dealer I asked him to please just check the cap for "tightness" to prove I was right!!! Low and behold it turned out that there was a faulty sensor. Replaced the sensor.

Well guess what? She is now one year old and has 15,000 miles on the odometer and YESTERDAY the check engine light came on. I phone the dealer and they said that this is NOT a reminder for scheduled maintenance. Said - - yup, you guessed it - - the gas cap is not on tight enough!!!!!!!!!! Aarggggg!! So I guess it's back to the dealer again for a reset. Problem is he told me that the next time I would be charged to have it reset. Don't know why since it was deemed a faulty sensor, but that's the way things just go for me.

I really wish that I could get to the bottom of this problem. It is probaby a false message but one never knows.

Ride safe.
