RPM Gauge is wrong near redline...Anyway to reset/relearn?
My RPM needle started running all the way to 7200RPMs recently. Is there any way to reset/relearn the needle? My Cipher says 6650RPM, when the needle hits 7200RPM, so it's not like I screwed something up with my Osiris.

extended warranty? You're going to need a whole new gauge set... Or just ignore it. What does the shift light do? It should still be accurate with the car and not the gauge.

That's an option, but if you read his first post at all you would know that is not what he's saying. His rev limiter may be increased, but it's reading 7200 RPM on the gauge when he's actually turning 6650 RPM according to the computer.

I sincerely hope that was not intended for me, but seeing as the OP has not responded I guess there's no doubt. So I will clarify: It is of no importance to me whether you can read or not. If you can, please do so before you post useless information into a thread asking for help. In no way did you aid him in discovering his problem. Conversely, if you can't read, please refrain from posting on this message board, you are doing no one a favor by telling them that "I thought on a flashed non revup they increased redline?" because he has already stated that his car, in reality, is only revving to 6550 when the gauge reads 7200.
Arnold K.: What is the difference in RPMs when held at 1000RPM intervals between 1K and 6K? The motor in the gauge can go bad and get sloppy, but whatever your cipher is receiving data-wise is the same as what your tachometer is receiving, so that limits your possibilities as to what's wrong.

mine is off too. not that high but still off.
I account mine for some sort of error rate that obviously is compounded at a higher rpm. say it's 50 rpm low at 1000 then it's 100 rpm low at 2000 and just continues to compound itself.
sportbike speedometers are this way. They have about 7% error rate so the bike is 7% slower than the speed indicated. Give or take manufacturer and bike model.
