Default clutch PEDAL "POP" when releasing

I have had my z for about 5 months now, just hit 6000 miles. Recently started noticing that once in a while when I am RELEASING my pedal it makes a really annoying "pop" noise. Anyone have any idea why it does this and how to make it stop. It's realllly annoying.

Where's the noise coming from? Pedal assembly? Transmission area? Engine area? Differential?

mine has done that or something similar in the past too. i wouldn't say mine makes a "pop", but more of a relatively loud click. did it for a couple of thousand miles and went away. pooof.... dissapeared. sound comes from the direct pedal assembly area.

My 04 does this from every now and then. Sometimes its a click or a creaking sound.

It's normal, it's just the clutch engaging. Our tranny and clutch/flywheel assemblies are pretty loud.

TheFarmer, it's from my pedal. I guess if it's no harm to anything I'll just learn to ignore it..

Default ....

If you notice the pedal is making the noise again, try to feel with your foot if the pedal is smoothly coming all the way back out or if it is getting hung up the last 1" and then "popping" all the way out...

Mine has done this before and I added some oil/grease to the pivots/springs and now, no more popping sound

i had the same problem in my 08 nismo, took it into the dealership they checked it out, and they said it just a characteristic of the clutches. not much they could do.

Lol, BS! It's the spring on the clutch pedal. It's sooo freakin anoying too. You have to change the whole pedal assembly. If you or a previous owner tried to adjust yur clutch pedal it will make this 'pop' or 'tick'. It is 100% the spring, and make nissan change that thing. They did mine and it went away completely.

Default pop sound

that "pop" sound you are describing that occurs when disengaging the clutch is most likely the pilot bearing on the car. I work at a performance shop and i have fixed this same problem on 2 separate occasions already.

Can it cause intermitent problems?

How do you troubleshoot this?

Is it expensive to fix?

lol. I don't know what kinda "pop" you are hearing but the pop I'm getting is from the spring on the clutch pedal. Just listen where you hear the pop coming from, it's pretty obvious if it's the clutch spring

i got the same prob, think temoku is right, that pop, hell you can feel it in the clutch pedal, push it in with your hand and listen, and since its loud not baffled its got to be something in the assembly, its is pretty annoying...
