Default I have a problem too, no joke

Ok so its another water problem just like the other guy, except different location. Its an 07 base with only 16k on it. I noticed it once before when driving around maybe 7k miles and thought it was odd, but hasnt happend since. Prob becauae i dont drive it much and its a once a month sunday driver type deal. (i get same amount of usage as most of you as I can drive year round) anyways the issue is this. when it rains, a decent amount of rain not a trickle, all the way up to a down poor when im driving water came in above me feet where the pedals are. I did not have a change to check out how or where from above the pedals though. I have the car for a few days and its not stored, sitting outside the past 3 days (used each day) and i came out after a rain in the morning, been raining all night and find water in my floor mat cover, luckily i have the deep dish mud type floor mats from walmart that trap all that and the water was in there. Way more than i could have brought in with just my feet walking in water. almost a half a cup worth. So im assuming it came in again from where the pedals were. I did not notice any of the flooring wet. My mats go past the pedals underneath the colum and dash. They are large enough. Has anyone had any issues or experience with this? Id hate to take it to dealer and have them tear through it just to find it and then other issues come up. id rather say, this is the issue, replace this please and be done. plus its not easy to duplicate. thanks for any advice.

Have them tear through the car and fix it!! Not worth it not to have it done!

I took it up there yesterday after the beach and guess what else i had to inform them about as i nearly lost it. RUST. Seriously??? wtf? I guess it was a bad weld where a bit of water got under and it was not painted properly or sealed?? Ill try and get photos for you to see. its in the door jamb of the driver side above the top door hinge and below the a pillar. So i reminded them and requested full documentation of my inside door handle wearing off at 15kmiles as well the nav compartment door button worn, leaky faucet above the pedals and now rust. Oh trust me i was thoroughly disappointed while driving the Z yesterday. Kinda wished I owned.... nothing as apparently the only good cars you can get are the ones you build yourself.

not sure why rust surprises you when moisture is present

a car you build yourself can rust too

as long as they take care of it, is it really a big deal?

yup, sounds like your problem led to another problem. Make sure they fix both... Sounds like a freak thing to me, definatly not a common problem Ive read about.

two seperate events. the rust (IMO) is not related to the rain comming in. It has not happened in a while, ive left it outside the past 2 weeks in the rain (nothing down pooring though like the first few times) and ive not seen any water in the car. the rust is from a bad weld that was not capable of being painted properly due to the goofieness of the weld. they are repairing the weld/paint/rust issue. replacing the inside drivers door pannel becasue the handle has worn or chipped away (16k miles) as well the center console door where the nav would go, that little switch has worn too. Maybe i should just strip her to bare driving essentials, then i wont have to worry about minor BS. lol it would suck though to drive as a cruiser or DD be more like a track car. fun for a bit but old after a while
