Default Need Help On Choosing Oils

What oils are you guys normally used for your Z?

For engine oil, I choose Motul 300V Power Racing 5w30. But I am not sure about the manual transmission gear oil and differential gear oil. Based on the Nissan owner manual, manual transmission has to use GL4 75w90 and differential has to use GL5 80w90.

I need you guys to help me on choosing the oils for both manual transmission gear and differential gear.

For both the diff and trans, your best bet is to go with a synthetic like Royal Purple or Redline.

This thread has a lot of info on both...

I would not use a racing oil for street use. Any over counter synthetic like mobil, penzoilplatinum, or edge will work just fine and cheaper. Redline does make some good oil but there expensive I only use them since I get a discount and change it every 7k.
For diff and trans.
Use mtl fluid from redline 75w90
And use there gear oil also

It what I've been using and changing every 30k

I thought Royal Purple was bad to use on street use?

Look in Walmart - Mobile 1 Synthetic is only $21.50??

BTW - Is there any advantage of using the Mobile 0W-40? I think that is what it is? It says it's better than 5W-30 etc etc...but I wonder if its safe to use on our cars?

Actually, save your money and use a high quality dino oil in the engine. Changing it every 3-4K miles is the best thing for your engine in the long run.
