Thumbs up Nissan finally replaced my front tires...

I first reported the feathering issue at about 7000 miles. I FINALLY got my new front tires under warranty yesterday at 22,000 miles! It was a total epic. I have no idea how so many people seemed to be able to just roll into the dealership and get a swap.

They had gotten so bad that the roaring sounded like a jet fighter chasing me with full afterburners on. The alignment got corrected when I took it in at 7000 miles, but the feathering was already bad enough at that point that they didn't even bother rotating the tires.

Now it's like a new car! I can't believe how much it sucked before now that it's fixed. The difference is unbelieveable. It feels like I'm hovering above the ground on a velvet-lined cloud.

They washed the car really nicely and gave me a $100 gift certificate to use for service or anything from the parts/accessory dep't as a "sorry" for taking 6 months to fix the problem.

I had been ignored/mishandled by a couple of dealers, then I went to Foothill Nissan in La Crescenta, CA (nearest dealer to my work) and they took GREAT care of me.

glad to hear your issue was finally resolved. I am right now at around 7k, and just about ready to get my alignment done, but the tires are too worn to rotate .... so i know the Jetfighter sound :-/

wish me luck

Default tire replacement

I got my front tires put on today. My first visit at 5000 miles they rotated and aligned front. At 10,000 miles it had feathered again an they made one phone call to get replacement tires approved. Took about two weeks for tires to arrive. Parker nissan in St. Augustine has started giving me excellent service.

unfortunately I bought my car back in NY (they were 7k less than here) and the dealer (Sycamore Nissan of Terre Haute, IN) is holding a bit of a grudge. ... we shall see what happens :-/

Reported the problem at 11,000 miles. Today front tires were replaced under warranty at 20,000 miles. Dealer performed tire rotation at 17,000 miles per TSB, but held up doing allignment until today, knowing tires would need replacing. Much to his suprise, the "Toe" was way off. I was literally plowing asphalt. Also, in conjunction with today's efforts, Amp fix installed per TSB and window grease fix done per TSB. It is like having a NEW "Z".

Exclamation DAMN TIRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NNA orderd the replacement of my front RE04's after going round and round with them for the past 5k miles.

Well......

So I take the Z in for service at 7 am on Firday - happy as can be that I'm getting new tires. They called me at 3 pm to inform me that NNA had sent the wrong tires......

I had a total melt-down and called NNA - told them what they could do with their POS serivce and that ordering tires is not like rocket science....

This is F'n silly - can't even order the right GD tires.

So I am demanding that all 4 be changed out now since they can't seem to get it right... Stay tuned!

So Reen - know how you feel buddy...

Well, my alignment was way out from the factory, so I think that was most likely the problem. The tire wear was consistant with the alignment problem.

We'll see in a few thousand more miles if it starts feathering again...
