I have been hearing that the 350Z is in first place for being the #1 vehicle which has either been repurchased or replaced due to so many problems and design flaws in conjunction with the lemon law. Can anyone confirm this?
check www.jdpower.com
by the way, how many threads do you have to make about the dissatisfaction of your Z?

Thanks for the link. I will make as many posts as necessary to try and encourage others to take action if they got a lemon Z. As I said before, I did a preorder and paid cash to the tune of 42k for my Z, because I have had many Z cars and am a huge fan of this car. I am very happy for all of the owners out there who are truly pleased with their Z cars, but I feel that NNA has done a horrible job on taking action about the serious issues with this car. Come on, this is their flagship car for crying out loud. We have purchased a total of 8 Nissan vehicles over the years, and now they want to do nothing to help a loyal customer such as myself.
Maybe if we swap Z's and you drive mine you will feel differently.

If you see my sig, I have a 2002 Max 6-Speed. My next ride soon will be either a Z or a G35, I haven't decided yet. Believe me, I've dealt with NNA numerous times about my pinging issues and they tell me that it is normal and states this in the owners manual
what a bunch of crap. I feel your pain. Just look at my SHIFT_ tag lineMaybe we could swap cars

Not sure about being #1 on the lemon law list but I do notice a significant number of low milage 03 Z's that are on dealer's lots because the owners are trading and buying non-Nissan cars.
The local Ford dealer has had 4 03 Touring models all with under 6000 miles from people buying Mustangs...

the mustang is an entirely different car. much larger. I think that some buyers were probably swept up in the publicity and hooplah about the Z. They buy it and realize that they want a larger car. Many other reasons to trade in a car other than the well known list of problems that have been cited here. Some people seem to go ballistic over the problems while others want the problems fixed but don't hate everything Nissan in the process.
I have had some of the minor problems: seat click, window streaking, dumb oil dipstick, but these didn't drive me nuts. If I had all of the problems that people have described, I might feel differently. I certainly don't think that the dealers were adequately trained to deal with the Z. However one year after purchase the dealer (Diritos in WC) is now up to speed. I tried Concord Nissan and found them to be arogant in their approach to me--of course they also wanted a 8-10K markup when I bought mine.

Lemon law buy backs are not without drawbacks. They don't give you your money back. They discount based on mileage. Example, you paid $34,000 for your new Z. They buy back 9 months later with 9,000 miles on the Z. You get $29000 for the Z at buy back based on useage of the car. My numbers are not exact but representative of what I have seen with others that had Lemon law buy backs. It is often much better for you $$$ wise to just sell it and buy another car. Check it out before you start the lemon law path. Once you start down that path you often can't turn back. Just what I heard.
