Curious Window issue
My driver's side window is not working. I assumed it was the motor
crapping out so I went through the thread where you clean the carbon
off the insides and it has been working efficiently well for about 3 weeks.
It then crapped out again. BUT occasionally it comes back and works
perfectly fine.
Now this would still seem like the usual window motor issue. But when it's working, I can use the window lock button and it would have no effect on
the driver's side window. The Passenger side window, which has no issues, works normally as it would not work with the window lock button on. So with
this situation I'm now assuming it can be something else besides the Driver's side window motor. Once in a while my window comes back and works perfectly fine. Maybe the buttons on the door is malfunctioning? Not sure.
Any ideas? thanks

brushes are pretty much dead in your window motor.
If you have a soldering iron, check this thread for instructions on how to swap out the brushes.
if you don't, or can't solder, you'll need to replace the motor. i would recommend going with an OEM motor, as the parts-store reman versions have a tendency to crap out anywhere from 3-9 months down the road. granted, they have a 1-year warranty, but why keep taking your car apart that often?
