Another window motor question
Sorry guys, but this one is a little different. I did look at all the other threads. So I'm replacing the right motor and everything is all apart. Now I have the new motor and I'm ready to install it on the old track/regulator. My question is how do I turn the 3/8 stud on the back of the motor to get it to line up with the track part? It only goes on one way with the 3 screws, but the 3/8 stud doesn't line up. I tried turning it by hand, nothing. Do I take a pair of pliers and try to turn it that way?

I know exactly what you're talking about (just did it yesterday). Line it up; the stud will go in but just millimeters. It should be just enough room to rotate the motor into position and push the stud in all the way.
It's taped up for now but not perfect, it has wind noise and leaks when it rains. So I'm wondering if I use the switch to turn the stud, and then I reset the motor, if the glass will be where it should be.

Yeah the cables. I'm just worried that if the motor isn't lined up perfectly with the bracket that the glass won't be where it should be. I'm used to replacing the motor and regulator assembly all at once, not just the motor.

When I finished I used the "auto" roll-up and once it got to the top it automatically went back down. The motor will need to be reset when you're done so it will learn where to stop.

He probably means before you put the inner door panel etc back on.
As for the bolt or whatever not lining up on the motor, mine was like that, it was about 1/4 turn off maybe. What I did was just hook the motor back up and turned the ignition on and it moved , so I unplugged it then turned ignition off and it fit just fine then.

So I have the new motor plugged into the connector, but it doesn't run from either switch. If I hold unlock on the FOB it runs the motor. And yes I do have the key on and everything plugged in. The fuses are fine. I know about the reset, but how am I supposed to do it when I can't even get the motor to turn? I'm starting to think it's the master switch failure.
