Z making a couple unusual sounds
I was painting some trimming for my new house in the garage. I had just finished so I decided to take my Z for a spin. I gave it a little speed and I heard this whining sound
Later I realized I was going 20 in a 45 so then I quickly accelerated to 45. It happened again. I pulled into a parking lot and popped the hood. there was a ticking sound almost like a belt or just the pistons. Anybody know what this might be? I'm not sure if I'm just hearing stuff from all the paint fumes I inhaled
, but I know for sure the ticking noise is real.

Most of these cars don't idle quietly from what I've seen. A ticking noise is probably a lifter tick (check your oil), the timing chain, an exhaust leak, or a spun bearing. The spun bearing would be pretty loud and obvious when revving. I would imagine that anything serious would result in a check engine light. Check the oil and see if it's full if you haven't already.
