Default Almost blew my engine...Help!

HELP!

My c/h gauge is acting up. I drive for 5 min and my car is to the highest level of "hot", I put coolent in and a week later same thing.. I cant drive my car because im scares to fry the engine i can drive maybe 2 miles until it overheats.. idea???

fluid flush??

thermostat could be sticking closed and not letting the coolant flow through the system. start the car and let it warm up feel the coolant hoses if the one with the thermostat is way cooler than the other one then its sticking closed. you will need a new thermostat. make sure that you get all the air bubbles out of the system when you fill the coolant system back up or it will overheat.

definetly your thermostat. Easy fix and the part is cheap at nissan

sounds like an air bubble to me , flush the radiator there's a few diy theads here and refill. I had a similiar problem I had to flush a couple of times though.

turn on car. turn on a/c compressor.
if your fans dont start, its your fans. Could be any of the above, but this should be checked as well.

Agree, check your fans operation. Don't know what year you have, but Nissan recalled and extended the warrenty. I just had mine replaced in Sept..

could be a leak in the cooling system make sure all the coolant hoses are fine.
also u need to double check the radiator fans, radiator cap, thermostat...

thanks everyone, fans are running its the thermostat just need to find out how to replace it.. and how to make sure no air bubbles are there
