Default drivers seat issues

Ok I've never actually had a problem with the seat. My girlfriend on the other hand says that nearly every time she gets in to drive and goes to adjust her seat she says the tilt feature doesn't work that good. Like it takes a few minutes of playing with the switches to get the tilt part of the seat to move. The tilt feature leans Back just fine but tilting the seat forward is a pita sometimes. The base moves forward and back fine though. Is this common? Its an '05 convertible with around 150K miles on it. Also can I just replace the motor or switch separately or do I have to buy a new seat frame? Thanks for any help.

What are you talking about... The seats are power seats.. They slide forward and back and they tilt forward and back or Recline and TILT forward. How does that not make sense?
Its her car, I'm just the one who drives it more often as I hate being a passenger.

Quite possibly Stein has the base seats that aren't power. Should still tilt though.

At 150k miles, is getting up there, not that unusal for the seat mechanism to get tired. There's not something jammed into the gap between the top and bottom of the seat impedding the normal operation of the tilt perhaps?

I have an 04 and mine will do the same thing periodically. Sometimes it will not move forward/backwards then all the sudden it works. I've chalked it up to glemlins.

only 50k on mine

new switch will fix the problem.

or try some electric parts cleaner first, just give it a good spray on the switch.

Lol she has more speeding tickets on her record than me and she's 7yrs younger than I am haha. She hates that my subaru is faster than her car.

Anyway thanks for the suggestions guys; I'll look into a new switch. Otherwise I may have to find a used seat or buy a new seat frame....

I've got an '08 touring coupe. My seats move fore and aft, and the backs recline.

There's nothing in the owner's manual or service manual about the seats tilting. It doesn't seem like something that would have been deleted from an earlier version, so I'm doubtful they were ever offered.

If the seat back tilts backward ok, but only intermittently tilts forward it will be most likely the switch and not the seat motor. You could swap over the passenger seat switch to confirm before buying a new part.

By the way Mr. Standard, a Z is an excellent girl’s car. What car wouldn’t love a feminine touch versus being banged around by some smelly guy!
