I too am having this issue, what did you guys do about it?

Grinds / is hard to shift every gear above 3k rpms, shifts alright below 3k.

If I let the rpms drop a bit and shift very slowly above 3k there are no noises.

Changing my tranny fluid out, I already ordered it so I might as well. After I think I'll bleed the clutch.

I feel like the clutch isn't releasing all the way, going to try jacking up the rear of the car, put it in first with the clutch in, and see if the wheels spin.

My pilot bearing has been making noise for months, and still is. Might be related, might not.

Did anybody resolve this issue yet?

I'm confused...
Could have been air in the clutch line. Eventually air works its way out with normal driving.

I think you're right. Mine has gotten better too.

Can anybody point me to a beginner's DIY guide to bleeding clutch lines? Everyone talks about how hard it is, but I haven't seen anything with pictures/tips.

i bled my clutch line and still have the same issue. This weekend I will be swapping out the motul mt90 thats in the trans now for some factory nissan fluid and see if that helps. I am noticing its getting harder to get into gears now too especially reverse then when I go back into first. I adjusted the shifter plate...

Sounds like slave/master and/or air in the line. I noticed delay in clutch disengagement (very very slight) as if the slave cylinder was catching up.

I bled the line through with ATE Super blue, very easy with a friend to pump the pedal as per the FSM instructions and now the clutch feels great

I have been driving around with the same problem for over a year. I still havent figured it out. I'm pretty close to replacing my whole tranny.

I replaced the pilot bearing when i changed my clutch ( i also had a broken piece that holds the pilot bearing lever)

Let me know if anyone figures it out... I hate driving my car this way...

I never had the grinding problem as you guys are describing, but i notice the clutch feels like it's disengaging a lot cleaner now.

Update:

Took it to a transmission shop and my issue is indeed the pilot bearing. Trans fluid, bleeding clutch didn't help.

I wish... it's still very drivable, as long as I take it easy. So I'm going to shop around for a clutch kit/flywheel, and then I'll bring it in.

So I bled the clutch line (never had air in it) and it still had the problems. Today I replaced the redline mt90 trans fluid with OeM Nissan and its sooooo much smoother but it still grinds above 3k shifts. I noticed my rev match down shifts above 3k rpm don't grind anymore. I only put on 20 miles or so and I will give it more time but if nothing changes I will be taking the trans off and replacing the pilot bushing and observe the rest of my drive train components since it will be all exposed. 2 of my local mechanic Friends know what I have done/ replaced and they both seem to think there is something internally wrong with my trans =\ the vids the OP posted sound EXACTLY like my car and his shifting patterns of shifting above 3k results in a grind is identical to my problem.

Just a bump and a heads up... My issue a few months back literally went away by itself. I couldn't stand not being able to rip on the car so I banged 1- top of 5th on a nice road in Mexico and ever since that run.... Trans is as smooth as butter! I kid you not! I'm not responsible if anyone else tries this and something goes wrong but it worked for me!

What exactly does, "banged 1- top of 5th" mean?

Ive done everything that all of these guys have done besides throw out or pilot bearing. My guess is that when I got a new engine the pilot part that’s on the engine was damaged while being removed from the original transmission. I’ll let y’all know when I get it done it should be in like a month or so.
