Default Did Nissan ever really fix the window motors?

I had my passenger side window motor on my 03 350Z replaced at less than 2000 miles and now the same window motor has died again. An 03 with 20,000 miles and the window motor has failed twice! I'd say the passenger window motor might have been used 2 dozen times. Looks like about $180 for a new motor. Are the new ones fixed or the same old junk that will fail in a few more months?

If there are window motors that have "the fix" where do you get them? Thanks.

Nope, seems to matter how much grease is inside of them and how hot your climate is. The grease works its way down on the comutator for the electric motor and then it stops working. Same problem the 08's will even have.

Ok now, knock on wood, but the day I bought my 04 with 20,000 miles, the windows on the passenger's side tend to be slower to open and close compared to the driver's side. However, I have 98,xxx miles and it still works so go figure

Not sure if Nissan has changed the motor throughout the years. You can find alternative brands such as A1 Cardone.

Consider yourself lucky. I've got an 04 and I have had both passenger and driver window motors replaced twice already. Passenger has been going for a while and finally died again last week, driver side died today... looks like I'm going on to motor #4 on both... This time I'm doing it myself and getting the ones with the warranty

You could always do what I do when my passenger window gets stuck: Press the window up button and bang on the door.

lol

No, just like they never fixed the tire feathering problem. Look in the HR section there is a thread about "highest mileage HR", with quite a few members complaining of failed window motors.

I have an '08 with 28xxx miles. My driver side motor died at about 16xxx miles and was replaced. My passenger side motor is getting slower by the day.
