I dealt with this problem but my car was never hit... The culprit was a bad connection at the wiring harness in the passenger footwell... I used dielectric grease and tiny strips of aluminum foil to make sure the pins were making a connection and haven't had a problem since

I would start with MAF sensor cleaner on all connections... Throttle body, gas pedal and ecu and if the problem continues try to look for bent pins at each connection point... I pinpointed my problem pins from the codes that the car was throwing and was able to beef up each by adding slivers of aluminum foil to those specific pins...

Just got mine back today. Pulled a p2135 (Throttle Position Sensor) with an OBDII reader. Got the throttle body replaced and she is running better than she was before. Cost me $484.
