Default Need your help. How to get into my car.

Hello Everybody

I want to know if there is a way I can get into my car. Heres the problem.

1. I just got from vacation and I think I left my lights or something on and it drained my battery so my key fob obviously wont work.

2. The week before I left to vacation my driver side door hinge broke. So I cant use the door handle from the drivers outside door. The way I delt with it that week was by holding the unlock button on my key fob so my windows would lower themselves and I would just reach in to my car and open the door from the inside. My goal was to fix it when I got from my vacation, but now I am stuck and its really bite me in the a$#.

So I would like to know if anyone knows how I can get into my car manually with having a dead battery and broken drivers side door handle.

Thanks guys. Hope you guys understand my explanation.

I know I can call AAA to have them open my car but trying to see if I can find a alternate route. Thanks .

I would think that you're either stuck with someone using a slim jim to get into your passenger door, or you'll have to find a way to get to a positive battery source from under your car if you jack it up and put it on jack stands. Then you could connect jumper cables so that you have power to the car and use your fob.

The only other thing that I can think of is if you could get to the hood release from underneath the car, pop the hood, and then get direct access to the battery to attach jumper cables there.

Pop the hatch and climb through. Open the hood.

You gotta break into it, or let AAA do it cause they've done it a thousand times. It should be easy with the Z cause the Z doesn't have a top door frame; so when you put the airbag behind the glass it will retract easily. Guarantee they will be able to do it in 5 minutes.

^^ That seems to be your only way. If your lock was working and you didn't have a key, a locksmith can come and make one from your door lock. No power and no handle means break in. It is really hard to access things from the bottom of the engine on most cars. There are other ways but obviously you want to minimize damage

No, from New York originally. I can't believe I wrote that. I need a vacation.

Your idea is really good though.

My first post. I suggest he simply "pop the hatch" and climb in...with a dead battery.

^ actually the funniest part was pop the hatch to pop the hood, when OP was figuring out how to get in. Once you climb in the hatch, no longer need to pop hood to boost car to get in.
