Clutch switch might be improperly adjusted.

There are two switch on the clutch pedal assembly under the dash. The one you need to adjust is on the forward side, and it's called the clutch interlock switch. Section CL of the service manual has all the details for adjusting it.

You should be able to reach the switch. Put the car in neutral with the parking brake securely on. Operate the switch by hand while trying to start the car. If that works, the switch is OK, but needs adjustment. If that doesn't work, the switch needs to be replaced, and new one needs to be properly adjusted during the installation.
