Default License Plate Lights

Okay, so I drive the 2004 350z and I noticed the other day that one of the two of my tag lights were out so I ran up to Advance this morning and bought a pair of tag lights to replace the one that was out.

Well after replacing both lights, I noticed that the one tag light on the left side still was not working even with the new bulb.

So my question is could the connector that holds the bulbs be bad or is there a certain fuse that controls just that connector (I wouldn't see the reason for them to have just one fuse though to control one module). Has anybody else run into this problem yet? If so then what was your fix?

Thanks!

Parking, license plate, and tail lamp operation use the same modules and switches. If one is inoperative all should be inoperative. For details get yourself a factory manual.

I suspect the bulb receptacle: Corrosion. Improper ground.

I agree with Mr. Davidv.
Corrosion is super common in plate bulb receptacles. Try to clean the female with a toothbrush and WD-40 or something like steel wool. When you put the bulb in, get a really light coating of grease on it, too. It'll work fine.

Yea. I was thinking it had to just be the module that holds the bulb because every other light on the car works fine. That's the only one that doesn't work.

I will try and pop it back out and clean it up in the morning. Hopefully that will work.

Thanks for the input!

Quick question how much did they cost at Advance?
