Default Z wont start and its not battery or starter

So a few days ago I got into my Z to go to work and tried to turn it on like every other day and it began to turn over for a sec but didnt start so I stopped and tried it again. This time it just clicked. It did not turn over. I tried it a few more times and it still just clicked . . . thats it. . . checked the battery and it is perfect. Just got it a few months ago so its not the problem cause all the lights in the car are working fine and tested amps and volts on it and its fine. So I bought it to a shop. Mechanic said it must be the starter so they put a brand new starter and it wasnt the starter. . . They tested the one in my car and the new one and they both work fine out of the car but in the car they dont work. Im thinking it could be the starter module/relay. Is there any other suggestions? Also tomorrow im gonna try to have some of my friends push me down the street and then jump start it in third gear just to make sure that the motor works and its just something electrical. Any input would be greatly appreciated . .. thanks

then its your wiring, common to burn an end down near the starter im told.

Also, do you by chance have the gauge pod disassembled for anything?

The voltage regulators tied into that part.

if its doing NOTHING, it may be oem security system related

if its doing the clicking thing, then its electrical, end of story.
If it is not the starter, and is NOT the battery and you are POSITIVE of these things, then it is the connections to all of the above or the wiring itself.

end of story, this is all fact. check it out, write back.

Is yours a stick. It may be the clutch switch. Mine had the symptions of a dead battery with out the dead battery. No clicking though which may rule this out.
But give it a shot since it is easy to check and fix.

Whoever you took it to was not a mechanic. With the car on the lift and a screwdriver the problem could have been diagnosed correctly.

I just talked to mechanic and he said he took out the starter while still attached to battery and it worked but when he put it back it didnt work so it might be stuck on the flywheel. . . I really dont know why that would happen. . . Im gonna try push starting today and see what happens. . .

Neimad I might need your help if I still can t figure it out after trying to push start. . . The car will be in the alameda area if your willing to help a member out. . . Dont worry Im willing to supply beer lol

How was he powering up the starter? Key to start was there b+ to the starter? I guessing he didn't do amperage draw while cranking. I might have time Sunday or if you can get the car to Castro Valley all my diagnostic stuff is here.

well I tried push starting and it wont start. . . the mechanic didnt really seem to know what he was doing and he didnt really explain what he attempted to me so I really dont know exactly what he did. . . me and my friend ended up just pushing it down to the stealership down the street. . . I think im just gonna have them diagnose it. . . Crazy a**holes are gonna charge 170 just to diagnose

Neimad he said that he tried turning the key in the ignition with the starter out of the car
