So the last few days I have been noticing my rear end having issues staying straight almost like driving on uneven pavement during acceleration or higher speeds.

Initially I didnt think much of it b/c It felt like that after I had my 275's rims/suspension installed, however it was more squirrly than normal.

Today I was walking out to the parking lot and noticed my left Rear tire appeared to have a more aggressive camber than my right!!! Maybe it was the angle, but it sure looked to have a slant to it. and my rear camber is pretty consevative about -1.8 per side as set and is mostly flush.

I got home and had a quick look underneath and toe bolt was still intact as well as camber arm.

What the hell could have happened to knock this out of alignment?

Spirited driving?
Maybe get an alignment to see the numbers.
It's hard to go off by just 'looks' especially with the uneven ground as a definite factor.

Impossible to judge camber by looking at tires.

What you may have is rear axle steer. Tow is way off, and rear axle steers the car. Not good.

Put you can on a level surface, grab your typical bubble level (3 foot works best) stand it up next to the tire, measure from the level to the top of the wheel . Repeat on the other side, if you have a huge difference, you need a new alignment.

fack!!! the whole wheel is loose!! the axle nut is tight yet the rotor and wheel are able to wiggle. Either the axle snapped or the spindle is junk???

i assume i cant drive this thing huh? Im gonna have to get a tow to my mechanic..

Anyone else hear of the spindle wiggle like this? I also noticed i lost my parking brake around a week ago...

ive got the tire and rotor off now.. sure seems like the bearing...

does the whole spindle need replacing or does the bearing pop out and just need a new one packed with grease?

Remove the axle (6 bolts from the stub shaft on the diff and the axle nut on the spindle side ) then remove the 4 bolts on the backside of the spindle, the hub and bearing will now pull out. If your hub is not smoked you can have it pressed from the bearing and reused, if not you need a bearing and hub.

This ain't gonna be easy is it....

I just did the rear axle click 3 weeks ago. Getting to the rear of the hub is a *****. How do I get those bolts off to release the hub?

remove axle nut, unbolt axle from stub shaft , slide axle out. Remove brake caliper and rotor , unbolt the 4 boltson the backside (accessible once you remove the axle) that hold the bearing to the spindle and the bearing comes out. Reverse for install, very simple, if i had a bearing and hub already pressed together ( I actually keep a spare ) i could have it all done in less than 1 hour with out air tools.

luckily they will last you another 75k miles.
Just did mine recently too.
Might as well do toe delete bolts while youre in there OP..

Time to check my front bearings now tho.. ugh.

Just found one of these... Weekend project. I have just a jack and lousy tools which is why I didnt want to get into it, but price and time down forced my hand.


Anyone know the bolt specs for each of the three connections on the rear?

Just swap the bearing and hub , simple . No need to do more work

Dropped it off to have the wheel bearing replaced and they are telling me they can't get the Axle nut off without breaking something.. WTF..

I torqued it down with 177lb ft per spec. I did drive it a short distance for drop off, but that shouldn't have affected the Nut should it?
