Default My Car Won't Go Into Gear

07 350 Z Touring. I just installed a ACT HD Clutch Kit. I replaced the clutch, pressure plate, and throw out bearing. Everything seemed to be ok, I drove the car for a few days then the past 2 mornings when I go out to my car I start it and it won't go into gear like as if the clutch isn't even engaging. I had to pretty much slam my car into gear then after about 3 - 5 minutes of driving everything if fine. I checked all my fluids and they are all good. I just wanted to get some ideas from you guys on here before I took it to the shop. Thanks in advance!

Actually, it's like the clutch isn't DISengaging. Pedal up = engaged, pedal down = disengaged.

Were you having a similar problem before changing the clutch?

What happens if you try to start the engine with the clutch pedal down and the car in gear? Does the engine turn over at the usual speed when the starter is engaged?

Upgrading the clutch when you don't need to.
Perfect way to waste money.

Dude, I would recommend buying a steel braided clutch line, and a new slave and master cylinder.

I have the same car but had a JWT clutch and flywheel installed in 09. don't know if you have the same issue, but it sounds related. I've gone through like three slave cylinders. finally I called JWT said they were having a ton of issues b/c the s/c is inside the transmission on the new model 350's. They said basically that the clutch dust is penetrating the s/c and contaminating the fluid causing the s/c to go bad and eventually the m/c. they recommended flushing the lines completely (don't know if you did this yet) and replacing the slave and the master. This could be the reason your slave isn't engaging the clutch b/c its getting stuck... On mine it's degrading the seals causing the slave to go bad every 3-6 months...

Seeing all the trouble people have with the CSC, it's surprising someone doesn't come up with a kit that puts the slave back on the outside. All the major parts are already available, but you'd need to make something to support a pivot ball inside the housing.

A cable between the pedal and the clutch fork would be another possibility. That avoids the drawbacks of a direct linkage without involving hydraulics.

I have an 07 z, so I get in my car push the clutch down to start it, it feel normal has all the pressure & doesnt stick to the floor at all, I push the clutch back in put the car in first let of the clutch & the car stays running ????
I can smoothly shift gears with no grinding even tho my foot is off the clutch !? The car doesnt move for **** unless of course i push it!
Any ideas what could be the problem ?/:

i have a 03 350z 6MT. i have been having problems with my Z lately. when i go into 1st gear while the car is on and i have clutch in all the way, the car moves as if i was giving it gas but im not touching any other pedal besides the clutch. when i force it into first the car start vibration like if it wants to shut off but it doesnt. to shift into any other gear, i have to force it as well and i have to push it really hard. i just changed the slave and if changing it and bleeding it, it worked normally for a couple of seconds but then after that it stopped working and it went back to how it was before. anyone experience this before? anyone have any idea on what i can do before taking it to a shop?
