Dropping the Z off at the dealer tomorrow to have a new oem clutch installed (107,000 miles Z is all stock). Started getting a notchy feeling in the petal and when pulling out the car would shutter when the clutch started meeting the flywheel. I have also had 2 instances where it's slipped and I have finally broken down and made an appointment to have it replaced.
Now I normally do all of my own work but since the Z is so low and combined with my bad back from a discectomy surgery last year I have chosen it would be safer for myself to take it to the dealer. This is costing me... but I figure if they do it they are responsible for everything if something were to go wrong.
For those that have taken it to the dealer should I be on the lookout for anything like them calling and saying they need to order more parts other than the clutch? I've just heard about dealers calling and saying they need to replace "such and such" or "we found this too" or surprise you with another price when you go to pay.
Does the dealer replace the clutch fluid as well and is there a warranty on a new clutch? I of course will be asking all this tomorrow but just wanted to ask those with previous experience...

What year do you have? If it's a 2003 you may want to consider replacing the clutch pivot joint as there have been instances of it failing in 2003's. They make a stronger one for $40 that you can find if you google it. Mine just snapped and now I have to pull the tranny to replace it so you might as well. That is, if it's a 2003.
As long as you’re forking out the cash make sure they do everything while they’re in there
Throw out / release bearing
Pilot bearing
clutch pivot joint (chromoly clutch pivot joint cost like $30)
Most of the cost is in the labor of dropping the tranny. There’s (or at least shouldn’t be) any labor cost for replacing the components above is they’re already doing the clutch. Then you’ll be good to go for quite awhile.

One thing I was not told about is an $80 diagnosis fee...
At lest I know the master mechanic that's working on it so it will be done right.

You should not have to pay the 80 fee if you are getting the clutch replaced. Like other shops the 'look over the car fee' should be waved if you are getting it serviced. Especially for a costly job. Typically Dealer BS.

Dealer called... says there is nothing wrong with my car and doesn't need a clutch. Do they drive it everyday? Nope...
So guess what... I will just do the work myself when I get chance and when I can get into a friends heated garage.
