Time for a new tranny??
So recently when the temp. drops to below 60F first gear feels like it doesn't want to be bothered at all. When i put it in gear it either throws it back out or "hiccup" a bit before engaging. Now it goes away after the engine warmed up to op. temperature.
Searching old threads I got the answer that it is too cold. But that is just it, it never did this last winter or the winter before. She always engages 1st no problem even in 38F last winter. I want to know if anyone has any issues like this only during the winter? Or is this sign of a wearing transmission?
Background: 2003 with original tranny, tranny fluid changed with OEM 5000 miles ago in July, no grinding issues in any gear.

But OP, I live in Canada and we are not in dead of winter yet it has gone down to about 25 F (I have a US car) and my gears have never felt like that. In fact! My transmission feels smoother in this cold weather...until it heats up fully and then it feels notchy and gross like it does the rest of the year.
Mine did the same thing.
I bought a short shifter from twm and a poly and billet trans mount from avid and it fixed the issue completely. all can be replaced w out pulling the trans.

It's only have 64 k miles and has been doing it, since I bought it at 13k miles. It is just doing it on 1st and 2nd gear though...but there are no vibrations on other gears.
