Perf shop trying to make me sign waiver after problem.
Ok I had a procharger installed and unistalled profesionally. My z has only seen about 200 miles since the uninstall was done about 2 months ago.
I take the car for a ride the other day and it gently conks out. I look under my front right tire and have a huge puddle of fluid.
I call a tow truck and have it towed to the dealer where I bought the car.
Guy calls me and tells me that the fuel line was not installed properly and fell off. Then tells me that there were harnesses that were out of whack and other bad things.
So I pay the 83$ to fix and the 75$ tow. Fax the invoice to the Performance shop that did the work and ask them to pay for it.
They agree but say that only If I sign a waiver first that clears them of all obligation to repair the car.
I can see that they are just covering there ***'s. Still I think that they should take full responsibilty for a job that they ****ed up in the first place.
Any thoughts?

I suggest a counter offer.
"How about this, you cover this mistake and any other mistakes you made like a REAL company and I will consider NOT calling my lawyer, the BBB, and the DOT. "
I think it is a fair offer.

And they will laugh in his face
1. The BBB does not care about you
2. In most states or all states possibly specifically threatening someone with a lawsuit and then not doing it is against the law. Then they can file charges against you.
3. The people you are dealing with are not likely to be the people you could sue, they have nothing to lose and often something to gain be shortchanging you, commisions and so on.
4.Most service shops, dealerships, people who work on commision, are masters of passive aggressive techniques, gaslighting, stalling and avoidance tactics, and passing the buck. This is because in America money is more important than doing the right thing. Hollow threats play right into their hands.
5. So don't talk about it, be about it.

1) If you complain to the BBB it goes on the record. Other people considering using them will learn what happened. You can save others PLUS you can possibly screw them out of some business.
2) Baloney. You can tell them you are considering legal action and still decide not to file.
3) No they may not care about the money, but they might care about your problem when it becomes the shop owners problem (ie their boss).
4) Who said hollow threat? I would file at least a small claims suit and with the BBB. In fact I recently filed a BBB report against a parts company that boned me. Filing in small claims court is cheap and you can do it yourself. If more people stood up against asz-clowns like this there would be fewer asz-clowns in business.
5) Huh!?!?

there's a certain company that we all know about that i filed a complaint against with the BBB.......this is how it played out:
1) i send in complaint
2) BBB sends the company my complaint
3) company writes response to BBB, and BBB forwards to me
4) i write a response to their response, which BBB forwards to company
5) company sends out second response, which gets forwarded to me, accompanied by a letter from the BBB saying that can do no more in this matter, they will note my complaint, and it will be considered at the next BBB rating time for the company
guess what?......after all that, the company still has a perfect report according to the BBB's website
