So I got my car with 83k miles, and when i hit 85k a couple days ago I decided to buy Royal Purple, new spark plugs and oil filter. Me and some friends did everything, but after the whole mess was done my car started sounding weird. The exhaust sounds kinda throaty and deeper, I was thinking it was an exhaust leak. I also looked under the car and my left valve was leaking oil so i went to Nissan and got a new valve cover. When I step on the gas it takes a second to react, which before everything was done it was running like a champ. My exhaust is also making a weird popping noise and it sounds very raspy. If you guys can give me some advice that would be very much appreciated. THANKS!

 

Did you hook the spark plug wires to the right plug? Shoot a video and post it up.

 

I just did all that to my car in the past 2 days. Most of the stuff you say you are hearing kinda sounds normal to me? i could be wrong tho. Ive only drove my car about 1mile since i did my tune. I didnt notice anything diff? I also have around 84k on the car and i moved up to 10w40 oil for the first time yesterday and i added Ngk IridiumIX plugs.

 

my friend heard my exhaust and said it only my left exhaust is making noise. And theres a weird noise coming from underneath the drivers side area, and when you pop open the hood theres a ticking sound

 

Check engine light is flashing?

 

No check engine light, I went to nissan to get my valve cover and they put the computer thing in and it didn't show any codes.

 

Hmm....my engine has always had a very mild ticking sound, i thought that was normal?
I kno im not really helping but just my experience.

 

The problem was my catalytic converter on my drivers side
