Default Recommended Catalytic Converter? 05 350z- open budget

Hello,

CA. newbie owner of Z with 67k. car bought with strup headers, nismo intake, megan race pipes, Injen catback exhaust system & piggy back ecu...

question regarding better airflow/performance & stoping damm cel light from coming on. bank2, senor 1 just changed

..couple people have said to swap out catalytic converter cause original is too restricted..i found some ca legal ones but would it make much of a difference?

it's taken me forever to save up for this car & i don't crap yet.

thx in advance for any help--check back tonight

oops-didn't mention that--only the strup headers & Nismo intake is installed. seller gave me all the race pipes & exhaust in separate boxes...

thankyou all for your input

If you go with Test pipes , I would go with Motordyne ART pipes

As far as HFC's I would suggest Berk's

I'm not familiar with emmissions restictions in your state.
ART pipes would be best if they would pass.If not,I recommend
Berk HFC's.

You won't pass a visual inspection with anything other than stock cats. For aftermarket cats, I suggest Stillen because they are metallic (catalyst lasts longer). You will still have to put in you stock cats to pass smog unless you find a shop to pass you but you wont get a CEL from Stillen cats.

Wow! Cali inspectors are strict. I'm from Mass and they do not even do anything close to what you guys do out there. They check to make sure the headlights work, the tail lights are lit when the brake is applied, that the reverse lights work, and that there are no codes being thrown by the dash by a CEL. Thats it. Takes no more than 5 minutes. The car doesn't get jacked up or anything. Mass FTW!
