Throw-out bearing making noise
I just bought my 2008 Z used about a month ago. I noticed it start to make a noise when the clutch was not engaged (It made the noise a little bit when I bought it, but a friend said they were known for thier loud transmissions). I have a good feeling its the release bearing. The 3 year mark on my warranty was up about 6 months ago. Any tips on what to do? Should I talk to the dealer and see what they can do?
Thanks,
Gary

when you have it replaced, spend the money and get the zspeed one, it is metal with braided lines, not the cheap plastic one like what they will replace it with. i had mine replaced in october of 2011, and i think something is going on again... alot of complaints about this. you will start to having the pedal either stick down or slow return, when mine did that it totally went out within a couple of days, i would get it to a shop pretty quick

The sound you hear is normal and don't worry about it. Travlee is referring to the concentric slave and it will go, just a matter of time. Once the clutch pedal starts sticking and not returning go ahead and order the Zspeed hd slave. Its a joke this part isn't a recall.

"Panic. It crept up my spine like first rising vibes of an acid frenzy. All these horrible realities began to dawn on me. There I was. Alone in Las Vegas, completely twisted on drugs, no cash, no story for the magazine, and on top of everything else, a gigantic g@d d@mned hotel bill to deal with. How would Horatio Alger handle this situation? Stay calm. Stay calm.

It's completely normal and offers no indication of whether or not your slave cylinder will go bad at some point. I had the throwout bearing noise before and after getting the slave replaced and my clutch works flawlessly now. Our cars sound like cement mixers, but if you ask me it's just incentive to go with an aftermarket exhaust

Thanks for the responses, guys. It just gets annoying sometimes. Putting an exhaust on does sound like a good solutions.
Haha. A buddy of mine made a reference to Fear and Loathing the other night at the bar; I about died laughing. He handed me his bar tab and said, "as your attorney, I advise you to pay this tab and leave these premises immediately."
