so this just started yesterday. i'm not sure what it is, i know the chatter is normal thats from the clutch. but this just started today, it almost sounds like metal grinding or something similar. if you were to be standing facing the engine bay from the front of the car it is coming from the right side of the engine (or so it sounds). everything as far as the engine goes is stock, i have a JWT clutch, thats all that is not stock.

any ideas?

scared me when it started doing it.

figured out it was the clutch on the a/c compressor, when the compressor kicked on the noise stopped, when it let go the noise started. luckily i got a good extended warranty when i bought the car so its at nissan right now. they said if i didnt have the warrantly i'd be looking at around $1,000 after rental car and all that. whew.

and they just replaced the driver window motor last week under warranty, that was about $450 ..

 

noooo!! the video has been removed...I have a similar problem also. Clutch chattering like a can of rocks when the car starts lurching from a stop. It does that no matter what gear i start from. Its also a little noisier than it normally should be when the A/C is on. I called the local Nissan dealership and they said they'll look at it for free and fix it if the issue is covered by the powertrain warranty, otherwise they'll charge $107 for their time. I just want to make sure it falls under the powertrain warranty before I take it in. I bought my car a little under 4 yrs ago so the 3 yr/36000 is out the window.
