Replaced window motor, now glass rattles?
Hey gang,
Hoping you can help me here as my brain has no clue.
Replaced the driver side window motor yesterday (myself, not mechanic), and it went smoothly. Window goes up and down like a champ, I lubed the channels with some silicon spray while I was in the door, and window now works better than new. (car is an 04 but I now have the newer window motors that are stronger)
But...today I roll the window all the way down and go over some bumpy roads and the glass is rattling against something pretty good..very annoying, and it has never done this before.
Any thoughts or known fixes? Passenger window was all the way down as well, and no rattles from that door whatsoever, so my only thought of "could be the speakers are being hit?" went out the window (no pun intended) since the passenger window would've been hitting the speakers as well. (third party speakers installed long time ago)
Your help with this is sincerely appreciated, searching around in this forum hasn't yielded anything.

Apparently the installation on that side did not go "smoothly". Like anything else, you might have forgotten to do something right. I would go over the install again. Check anything that could be in the way.
Lol I am pretty sure mine is doing the same thing after I replaced the motor. Its not too bad but I can hear it rattle every now and then. Hasn't bothered me enough to take apart the door again yet.
Post back your solution if you find it.

Will do Ak48z.
Beezee - I'm not sure what motivated your reply as I don't see it as being all that helpful? I think anyone knows something could be in the way and I'll have to take a look at the door again. There is no way to screw up the install if you're familiar with how to do this. If not then I'd respectfully ask that you don't comment in threads asking for help where you don't have help to offer. No offense meant.
Anyone experience this or know of this issue? I'd rather take the door apart with knowledge of what to look for rather than just randomly poke around and guess, as the tracks were bolted down tightly, the window motor is bolted tightly with it's three bolts, and there is no hindrance in the up down mechanism whatsoever. Just not understanding what could rattle now when the passenger door does not. Passenger door still has stock 04 window motor.
Thanks for anything helpful,

Bump...as in...."please help!"
I'll probably take the door apart Friday as tomorrow is pretty full, but any info is really appreciated on what to look for or test?
Doesn't seem like there's much that can go wrong but there's always that tidbit of info from an expert that can be so so helpful.
All attempts to help appreciated, and apologies if I was snippy below...I read the one reply as if it was attacking me a bit for saying it went smoothly and I was a bit stressed from other things at the time. My intent is to be gracious, not snippy, heh, and I failed a bit in that reply.
Anyway...help needed and appreciated,

Open the door panel and tighten your screws - seriously, what do you want from us? Another tutorial on how to do it? In the time you took formally requesting another member not comment you could have fixed the issue. Open the panel, roll the window up, tap the glass, centralize the source and fix it.
Mine rattles also. I should have used rubber washers on the bolts when I replaced the window motor. Locktite comes to mind too.
