Default ¿¿Transmission whining CD009??

Hey guys I've searched all over all the CD009 tranny noises sound like the one I'm concerned about. I know all about the chatter noise and I am not bothered by it, I've had this whining sound while driving. Sounds exactly like if were using a Quaife sequential transmission. I've had this since new, took it to the dealer when I had 6000 miles on it and they swapped in a new one, And what do know still there so just started upgrading the tranny with clutches and flywheels. I went through 5 different clutches and brands but now Im breaking in my new Southbend Stage 3 drag clutch and their 25lbs flywheel HD CSC and soon getting their HD master cylinder. Anyways, is the sequential tranny sound in my normal CD009 transmission normal?

You sure it's not the diff? Check the bushings for wear.

I only have a whine in 4th gear right around 35mph-40mph...forget what rpm I am at around that..hmmmm I think between 2100rpm @ 35mph-40mph in 4th gear. Other than that no whine else where. Oh yeah i remember one short little bleep of whine in 6th gear not sure what speed or rpm i will report back since not as obvious as 4th gear whine around 35mph. I have changed tranny fluid and diff fluid and whine is still there. I am not sure if it is the whine from diff due to gear mesh or the tranny. I have 95k miles on the vehicle and stock tranny, clutch, flywheel, VLSD. Does not bother me since I have my stereo and baby boi in the back whining too...so i am use to it lolz

It is definately not the diff. I used to have the diff noise with my 4.083 gears but then got 3.9 gears but it sounds good no noises there. The transmission whining in my case is in 1st 2nd 3rd louder in 4th gone in 5th and slightly in 6th. Ive had this problem since forever all gears feel great though and smooth shifting. It's just that annoying noise.
Oh and I am at 17,500mi

It has to be something else besides the transmission since you had a whine, completely new transmission was put in and the whine is still there. So the "problem" was swapped out and yet the noise remains.

I would start looking elsewhere. Have your rode in other z's? Every vehicle i've owned has it's own specific transmission noise when driving. These transmissions tend to be a little louder than most (the 6mt)

My engine is brand new also maybe 2500miles on it I had some mishaps with the whole doing the Cam job. So new engine and tranny has maybe 10000 on it.

How bad is this whine you are describing? I have a whine in 1st gear at very low rpm's until I shift up. Usually I hear whining noises between 1-2 and that's it. If you think that's an issue now, wait till you drive or ride in a GTR. It's not anything to be concerned about. These transmissions are noisy by nature. There is nothing we can do to fix it.

Might not even be an issue if the exhaust noise is covering it. My 4th gear has the ever slightest whine when I am light on the throttle and it shifts smoothly. Have someone ride in your car for a 2nd opinion.

I've gone through several transmissions and most of them had a whining noise to them (including my current one). I've heard it might be the input shaft bearing.

+1, the microphone lies inside the unit itself sealed in the outer shell casing. nasty sound. my cd009 whined more than the cd008 i originally had. theyre just noisey transmissions. how loud yours is, im unsure. perhaps driver another cd009 car or see if the noise is only while your in gear.
