I know this subject has been touched on many many many times. I did a search and couldn't find what I was looking for. My question is, I hear a whining noise from what sounds like the rear end. It only makes the noise when I'm pressing the gas, I let off the gas or push the clutch in the noise goes away. The noise gets really loud when doing 60+ regardless of gear. I changed the rear diff oil and the sound changed from a high pitched whining to a deeper whine. Sounds like grinding to me but to others it sounds like a whine. Does anyone know what this noise is? Thanks.

 

So i was able to fix the grinding but not the whining. Any input at all?

 

I too would like to know, I have it in my 06. seems it came after I changed the read driff mounts to solid one and drained and filled the trans and diff
