Camshaft Position Sensor (Bank 1)

Camshaft Position Sensor (Bank 1)
Phew - had myself a fun night.
Car was difficult to start, CEL on, VCS lights on, car threw a 340 code, Camshaft Position Sensor A which I equated to Bank 1 after doing endless searching online.
After reading as much as I could, decided to go buy a sensor from the local autozone for $55. Came home, unplugged the battery and let the engine cool down.
First hassle was getting the damned sensor out, the bolt is covered by a very large wire harness and harness clip. After finally getting that bolt out, I pulled out the sensor.
Getting the connector off? WOW. WOW! Finally instead of removing the connector, all 3 wires ended up popping out of the harness. Lovely! Spent the next few hours trying to decipher the FSM and still don't know what colors go where...
Took a guess and got the engine to start, but it still takes a while to crank over and the CEL came back on. Don't have a ODB scanner so don't know which code but I'm going to take a guess that it's the same one.
Funny part is, once the car starts, it runs fine...
Anyway - can someone do me a HUGE favor, and look at their passenger side sensor and tell me their wire colors from driver side to passenger side? This can be done quite easilly, you just open the hood and stare down near the battery compartment (below the fuel regulator, it's either a big green or grey plug depending on your year). There are 3 wires... Looking at the FSM, it appears that Pin 1 is Black, 3 (middle) is Red / White, and 2 is Red. Trouble is, don't know where pin 1 is! Bonus points for a picture.
Since the car is hard to start still, is there a possibility this sensor is bad? Maybe I botched up the wires... When I had the wires on a different way, the car would not start at all. I'm going to guess, that was the wrong combination (there really are only two, since I think the Red/White wire goes in the middle according to the FSM).
Please help 350z community, you haven't let me down yet!

Place just aint' what it used to be... It's an easy one to spot out, just have to look behind the motor and you should see a plug about mid-way down with 3 wires poking out of it.

Great, my thread was moved into an even lesser visited area! I'm going to try this in the forced induction area to see if I get a quicker response, I used to hang out in there quite often. Mods please approve.

the auto zone sensors are notorious for being crap and not working as soon as you plug them in i'd return it and spend the extra bucks on oem...jump around this thread

In case anyone searches for this, the wires on a 05' 350Z are red/white, red then black (black being closest to the fender).
