Hi guys,
I recently broke my spiral cable after installing my GTM SC kit. I'm wondering if anyone has replaced this cable themselves?
Any tips on replacing it?
Also, if the wires have just been pulled out of the harness/connector, can these just be spliced/re-soldered back in or is that just a dumb thing to do (IE just replace the cable)?
I've been studying the following thread (and the FSM)
https://my350z.com/forum/body-interi...install-2.html
If I understand correctly the spiral cable is the black sheathed bundle that connects the steering wheel connections to the hub and carries the airbag sensor/wires, the cruise control, stereo controls and my horn (all of which are dead at the moment).
Hoping to avoid a trip to the dealership (other than to pick up a part).
Thanks

Ah, thanks bmc, yep, clock spring.
Found the part on courtesy's site "BODY-COMBINATION SWITCH", seems simple enough if all you need to do is drop in this assembly.
Kept searching for "spiral cable" and wasn't finding the part anywhere...

I did the same dang thing when installing my headers and had to disconnect the lower steering knuckle. So all that is needed is the body-combination switch? I contacted OC infiniti and they want $475 for the clock spring unit. Sux having no horn or radio controls on the wheel.
