Default Can TPMS warning light burnout?

It's been a few weeks and I keep forgetting to remove air to test if they are working. I always remember while i'm driving or about to go to sleep. So, it may be a coincidance, the dealer may have reset them or put them in learning mode for free with my oil change. I have 370Z Nismo rims with OEM 370Z TPMS sensors.

I haven't ordered new tires yet (may get Hancook v12's tonight), so was putting it off swapping the TPMS from original wheels.

If I can actually remember to take some air out and test them, i'll post a reply. If I burned out the light then maybe I don't have to swap them out.

yeah it's a useless POS on like every car because they are faulty so often people ignore them, like car alarms.

The LEDs can technically burn out but the chances are slim - they have a life span of about 50,000 hours unless they get too much current of course. So they probably reset it.

it sounds ghetto because it is.. but its soooo nice anyways.... :

Took a piece of black vinyl i had laying around.. cut a nice smooth circle out of it.. quite small i might add.
placed in my field of vision over the airbag light.. took me 120 seconds and now i really dont even see the thing lol.

One day Ill order the correct resistors, but for now.. its a fancy strip of black tape over the gauge face working just fine for me.

Lets see if I can remember in an hour when I get in my car

Well, if the dealer reset them that means 2009 370Z Nismo TPMS works on my 2008 GT Roadster.

If you have soldering skills not very difficult. If you don't - don't bother - a replacement cluster is~$200+ if you mess it up.

However taking it apart and covering the led is a viable option.

^- do you have any instructions on removing it from the dash? Seems simple enough.

If you get in the car and turn the ignition on w/o starting the car the light should come on during the bulb check...

Like any other light on the dash, when you first turn the ignition to the ON position (no need to start), all the lights should illuminate for a few seconds. That's the "test" to see if they are working or not.

You have 370Z TPMS sensors on a 350Z? That don't work.

Yes, both the ABS and TPS light for about two seconds.

Yes, I have 2010 370Z TPS on LM5 wheels. So either...
  • it relearned over time
  • was a coincidence the light went out after the oil change
  • delear reset or put in learn mode
  • all 4 TPS are burned out

do0d, you know it's gonna come on after X miles. If it bothers you that much, shut the car off then quickly back on while you're driving and it'll reset.

Lowered rears about 5 seconds worth but no light after one mile. Pulled over and took out another 10 seconds worth and it came on in about 100'. It was approximately 25/24lbs when I got home (not cold pressure).

When I was about to leave today I remembered to fill them up becuase I took way too much out the night before I felt the difference driving. The light turned off after I backed out of the garage.

Ovcourse, I can't gaurantee it will work on other years or models. I have a 08' GT-R which is pretty much the same as '09 as the 370's came out in 09'. It could also be possible that certain receivers match up with certain TPMS units and I just got lucky.

an alternative to taking out the LEDs that bother you like tpms, airbag, check engine if you open the cluster just cover them.

I replace the lighting so I have a blue cluster not and some LEDs run in pairs of groups or taking one out or making it fail might affect other ones as well.here a pic of my FB showing my cluster and you can see them in my youtube as well
